Dream House

Modern Architecture is a movement that began in 20th century and has changed the way of living and architecture around us. I was inspired to created a modern architecture sketch with glass windows as I find those simply beautiful and famous in our society. I used pencil crayons to sketch out and colour my dream house. I used different shapes in creating my design. Most of it consisted of  a rectangular shape, however homes now a days have different shapes and different designs that attract people to these homes.

Modern homes now days consist of mostly windows so you can look out into the beautiful view around you. Society impacts us as we all want to live the same ways and to live our lives the same with latest phones, newest clothes and the top best cars.  Also it took time in creating our school's outdoor classroom. Many different thoughts and sketches definitely went in before the idea of the outdoor classroom went through.

Egg This!

Photo realism began in the late 1960s to the early 1970s. Photo realism was created to make pictures look real as to capture the realism affect in motion. I used shading and different colour tones to create my realism photo.

Safari Scenery

Art of Africa began in Africa to recreate and show the rituals and culture of the African people. I decided to draw a photo of the sunset with giraffes that make me think of Africa and how beautiful it must be. I used different colours and blended to make it look more realistic as if it was the the sky. I used a tonal value of different colours to define the sky as it appears to be a sunrise.

This relates to society as it reminds me of the disney movie, The Lion King. That movie was my childhood movie and it had a lot of wildlife and the scenery was completely beautiful. I loved how all the colours clashed together and how there was many different animals.

Modern Canadian Art is also know as having to do with paintings, printmaking and photography. This movement began years ago and till today as it continues to strengthen the Canadian art representing the country and native culture. This is a photo I took in Montreal earlier this year that represents Modern Canadian Art to me. I made to focus the camera on a particular object and have the background around it make it pop and I loved how everything in the photo collaborated together. Every time I look at this photo I remember that day and how beautiful the scenery in Montreal Quebec was. The light was not too bright, not blurry and focused for a pretty good photo.

Contemporary Art was a movement that began in the 1970s and is still present today. This movement uses different modern icons that affect our society to make one great piece. My painting's icons are of Instagram and Cinderella but in a modern twist. Also, her Instagram profile picture is of lipstick. I used water colour and acrylic paint to create this piece.

This relates to how society uses Instagram now a days and post a lot of selfies. It also relates to disney and the Cinderella princess. I used modern day things in creating this picture to relate to society and our modern day life.

Celeb Love

Dadaism is a movement that was created in 1916. This art movement was to mock other famous art pieces. My art was to do with society and a famous musical artist. I used Harry styles as my famous artist and mocked it by using an emoji. Harry Styles is from the famous pop british band One Direction. Him along with his bandmates, Louis, Niall and Liaam have sold over 5 albums in 5 years! And since Harry is my celebrity crush I used the heart eyes emoji to mock this photo.

This relates to society since Harry styles is a huge icon for teenagers and young ladies who love him for his looks and his angelic voice. At the moment, One Direction are on break and their fans are not certain if these four boys will return again after a year and a half or not. Hopefully they do so since they inspire a lot of young people to follow their dreams.

Half of Me

Abstract expressionism began in the 1940s and 1950s. This art movement has to do with brush strokes and an impression left from the painting. I painted a girl using many different colours and brush strokes to create an impression of fierce and anger expressed on the girl's face. Soft long brush strokes are used to create her colourful hair and sharp short brushes used to create her face.

This relates to society as though not everyone you meet shows you their true colours and as you come to know them you see different sides to them that you never have seen. People are not always who they seem to be in life and this painting shows me that they have different colours thus is the reason why I used different colours in creating this painting.

Wide Eyed

Surrealism began in the early 1920s and it is best known for its visual artworks and drawings. A famous artist during this time was Sigmund Freud. This is my all time favourite! I love how the eye truly looks real with the shading and drawings within the eye. I used different types of shading pencils to create this art work and I also used a smudge stick to add shading in some certain parts. This art work is relatable to society and how we need to keep our eyes open for the future and how we shouldn't always be closed minded on what people say. We should always be open to new things that might actually be a great thing.

A Flower Through The Dark

Post Impression is an art movement that began in 1910 and a famous artist during this movement was Vincent Van Gogh. One of his famous art paintings was "Starry Night". I used a sharpie to create my background and used pencil crayons to colour in the flower. My drawing represents an ugly duckling and how its unseen at first since its a small seed but once it grows it becomes a beautiful swam or a flower in the case.

This relates to the movie the Ugly Duckling that I watched when I was little. This shows that you should never judge someone or call them ugly because you do not know how they may truly look or how great their personality may be! Thus you should never judge a book by its cover or ni this case, a flower by its steam.

Out Of The Woods

Native American Art is an art work that was created thousands of years ago. The native art works are really creative to me since these are art pieces that many Native people created years ago and some  people continue  to do to this day. I coloured a picture of a forest with the owl's face as it is looking out into the snow covered forestry ground. It reminds me of society and how we all look at each other and judge one another instead of looking at ourselves and how no one is perfect and we shouldn't judge each other.

Tree of Life

Art Of Mexico is an art movement that began in 1500 BCE to 1500 CE and a few artists that were known during this era were Diego Rivera,  José Clemente Orozco, and Fernando Leal.  I used pencil crayons to create this colourful tree. I like the different colours that are on the tree as they represent colours that make me think of Mexico and the festivals there.
